Example of an artwork or major work (picture or any). Describe it.

Dalagang Bukid (1936) – Club Filipino collection

It is a portrait of a young lady holding a Banga. The lady represents a Filipina beauty, with a captivating smile, simple and cheerful. I think the artist used the dalagang bukid painting as an interpretation of our motherland.

Why did you choose this specific major work & how will you relate this to your chosen strand/track which will lead you to your future field of specialization.

Since Fernando C. Amorsolo was the first national artist in this country, Amorsolo is best known for its illuminated landscapes, which often depict traditional Filipino customs, cultures, festivals, and professions. I think his work is interesting. So I consider his landscape to be "the true reflections of the Filipino soul." Amorsolo was known for his portraits.
